ROCK 'N' BOWL @ ALL STAR LANES

Culver City Dub Collective playing tonight at Temple Bar.
Anchored by drummer/songwriter Adam Topol and guitarist/engineer Franchot Tone, the Culver City Dub Collective play an amorphous blend of bossa nova, roots reggae, and Afro-Cuban riddims that's perfect for the summertime. In the spirit of a true collective, their debut full-length, Dos, boasts an all-star lineup of guest appearances from folks like Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, and Money Mark. Tonight's bill also includes the indomitable New Orleans swing and swagger of the Critical Brass Band and the rootsy beach-comber rock of Peter Goetz. – Nicole Cifani

Guilty Pleasures - Featuring Ryan Graeff, Sharktoof & Pingping
Tonight at Ghettogloss.
Opening Reception: 7:00pm to 11:00pm

This upcoming show is a collection of juicy street culture and pop sensibility, united by it's use of bright colors, bold lines and graphic imagery. The trio's playful work is grounded in their technical ability and unique stylistic voice. Ryan Graeff, the auteur behind Restitution Press, presents a body of new work coinciding with the release of his latest bound portfolio of silkscreened ephemera. LA wheatepaster, Sharktoof, brings his signature shark and cigarette motif indoors with a colorful series of densely layered silkscreened prints. Pingping, a Nike footwear designer, paints highly polished girlie pinups that recall the imported manga of her childhood in Beijing. Stop by and enjoy a cocktail on this pre-summer Gorilla Thursday opening.

Neva Dinova playing tonight at Spaceland.
Plaintive indie-folksters Neva Dinova have been a staple of the Omaha, Nebraska music scene for some time now, recording and touring with Saddle Creek stars Bright Eyes and Cursive. Yet, somehow, they're only now releasing a full-length LP (their new You May Already Be Dreaming) on Conor Oberst's revered indie label. The five-piece band celebrates the album's release tonight at Spaceland, alongside Brooklyn-based Pela, with their Americana-tinged indie anthems, and Vancouver-based hard rockers Ladyhawk. – Jessica Jardine
