Read: Jónsi Cancels In-Store Tour (right after appearing at Origami in Echo Park)

A few weeks ago, we reported that Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi had a series of free acoustic shows, titled "Go Closer", planned at record stores across the U.S. during his current fall tour. The second show in the series was supposed to go down tonight at Salt Lake City, Utah's Slowtrain, but as of today, that performance and all others in the series have been cancelled.

According to a statement on Jónsi's website from his management, Jónsi is not to blame for the cancellations: "We talked him into it. And we stand by the fact that it is a great idea… on paper. Jónsi himself, however, was always sceptical about how in would pan out in reality. And standing there nose-to-nose with fans in the cold light of day the other day in Origami Records, Los Angeles, he had the sudden and undeniable realisation that this is not the environment in which he flourishes."
