Anticipate: "Let There Be Rock" featuring PU$$Y-COW / THE MONOLATORS / THE MO-ODDS @ El Cid on Wednesday, April 27

PU$$Y-COW (the creative force behind the now infamous ‘Dre Day Celebrations’) will be kicking off the show with their triumphant return to the El Cid stage. Fueled by the manic desire to rock, roll, and maybe hit Tacos Arizas afterwards, P-COW wouldn’t necessarily discourage shot gunning Tecates as you watch them literally shake loose the venue’s flamenco floorboards. They’re facetious in the way that thrashing about, you’ve just bitten the hell outta your tongue.

And who isn’t ready for THE MONOLATORS to play again? Following their last show at The American Legion Hall in Highland Park, I think I saw more cuts, scrapes and bruises on the band than on the rawkus minions gathered to see them navigate between their 50’s rock influences and 70’s punk. After last being featured at the HCP Rock n’ Roll Circus, this show brings them again to a stage setting that nestles them right back into the arms of their rabid devotees.

All said and done, I still believe there was some serious structural damage done the last time THE MO-ODDS set up shop at El Cid. If there was in existence some sort of profane punk rock all male burlesque troupe, I’m quite convinced Chris Mo-odd would be their fearless leader. But together, THE MO-ODDS are a sight to see and a force to be reckoned with (hide your wallet). It’s punk rock soul shots taking liberty with your ear holes…and trust me, you’ll like it.
