Family Guy C.R.A.P.
(A Collection of Rare Art Pieces)

A Collection of Rare Interpretive Art Work Inspired by Family Guy

Back in 2006, Fox commissioned a series of original art as a celebration of the passion of the "Family Guy" fans and the creative spirit embodied in the show. The resultant show, which became known as "The Family Guy Artists’ Series", was a resounding success and has lead to the 2nd Family Guy Artists’ Series. This new exhibit will debut at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles, CA on October 18th, before setting off on a tour of galleries around the world.

Over twenty artists have taken the show's characters, design and sensibility as a starting point and literally let their imaginations run wild. The result is a wholly original and eclectic series of images in a variety of media that bear the unmistakable "Family Guy" imprint through the prism of each artist's entirely unique style and perspective.

The show, entitled "8teen,000" is the collection of 18,000 meticulously placed wooden pegs distributed amongst a number of works. The show explores the spontaneity of romantic 50's comic emotion within a medium that is anything but spontaneous. With this show the artist wanted to fit the organic imagery of the human face into a methodical and mathematical medium. Further, the artist wanted to allow the spectator to dictate the movement within the pieces by viewing them from different perspectives and creating their own ideal vantage point.

The Boat People || Listen || Watch

Whispy riffs and dreamy lyrics make for a light-hearted album that you can’t help but bop along with. This warm and fuzzy album is a long time in the making, with their first of three EPs being released in 2002, and their debut released in 2005, it seems that basking in all that northern sunshine over the past three years has created a release to warm the cockles of anyone’s heart.
If you love the jingle jangle of some well-arranged honest tunes, then you cannot go past this collection of fine tracks from The Boat People. Turn it on, turn it up, and get ready to smile your face off. -TuneFM

Echo Park Named One of Top 10 Great Neighborhoods

And when you hear that, you might find yourself asking which Realtor came up with that ranking. Luckily, this time there is some creditability behind the designation: the American Planning Association. They "singled out Echo Park because of its breathtaking topography set in the hills above downtown, historic architecture, pedestrian-oriented streets and stairways, and engaged residents who, over the years, have gone to great lengths to protect and preserve their community," according to an APA release (add: their website has more info and history on why EP was chosen) .... more after you click on the image!
